Servings examples:

  • The measure descriptions for a food are those available in the FNDDS. The Servings column provides additional flexibility by permitting you to choose a multiple or a fraction of a measure description.
  • If you want to see the exact amount in the Measure description column, put a 1 in the Servings column.
  • Examples of how to specify amounts of kiwi fruit:
    • 2 1/2 cups - enter space(not dash) between whole number and fraction
    • . 5 of a kiwi - not necessary to include zero before decimal point
    • 3 slices of kiwi
